We are pleased to announce that this year's A.K. Sculthorpe Heritage Scholarship recipient is Robert Deak of Cobourg. A recent graduate of CDCI East, Robert has been accepted into the Heritage Carpentry and Millwork Program at Mary Trevor and Robert DeakAlgonquin College in Perth, Ontario, where he will begin the two-year course this September.

Qualifying recipients are accepted from all of Northumberland County.

Lat year's recipient was Matthew Paul Desbarbieux of Port Hope. A graduate of Port Hope High School, Matthew was also accepted into the Heritage Carpentry and Millwork Program at Algonquin College.

The previous year's recipient was Brandon Bliss who has now completed his final semester at Algonquin in the Heritage Masonry Program. Brandon is currently working on the restoration of masonry at Toronto's Casa Loma and also on the brickwork of "William Trick's Checkered Cottage" on Church Street in Port Hope.

The Architectural Conservancy Port Hope Branch is pleased to accept specific donations to this very worthwhile fund. A tax receipt will be given.
